Gabrielle is a multidisciplinary artist and visual storyteller based in Montréal, Cananda. Her mediums include puppetry, objects, costume, and space. Before immersing herself in the world of puppetry, she worked in theatrical scenography. A graduate in scenography from Concordia University, she went on to pursue a master’s degree in costume and set design at Northwestern University in Chicago. She lived in the United States for four years, where she collaborated as an assistant on various theatre, circus, and dance productions, including at Steppenwolf Theatre, Lookingglass Theatre, and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.

Upon returning to Montreal in 2018, she became involved as a costume designer with the team at Le Grand Costumier. In 2020, she took on the role of project manager for the restoration of the costume collection, whose mission is to preserve the integrity of the archive. Shortly after completing a graduate certificate (DESS) in contemporary puppetry at UQAM (2019–2021), she joined the workshop led by Christine Plouffe, working on the creation of various puppets and costumes designed by Patrick Martel, including those for Chanteurs Masqués broadcast on TVA and All Systems Are Go, presented at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center.

In 2023, she designed and fabricated puppets for two documentaries scheduled for release: La Peur by Christine Chevarie (NFB) and Mon Maurice à Moi by Serge Giguère (Les Productions du Rapide-Blanc), designed by Mélanie Baillairgé in collaboration with La Pire Espèce. She regularly assists Julie Vallée-Léger at the company La Pire Espèce on various object and paper theatre projects. She is also a member of the collective Les Cabinettes, with whom she performed at the International Puppetry Festival in Senegal and at Théâtre de la Petite Marée in Gaspésie in 2024.

Since August 2024, Gabrielle has been working at Cirque du Soleil on the fabrication and development of props for a brand-new production.
